16-Ping Bright and Cozy Home Makeover: TV Cabinet as a Feng Shui Screen and Storage Marvel

🏠🌟 Transforming a 16-Ping Home from Cluttered to Chic 🌟🏠

Momo's story of turning her cluttered 16-ping home into a spacious haven is nothing short of a makeover miracle! Thanks to the creative minds at Jijiang Design, her home is now a dreamy, functional space. Here’s the inside scoop on how it all happened!

🛠️ The Renovation Spark Living in the house for about 8 years, Momo's burgeoning shopping habits led to a serious storage crisis. The dark, cramped space with a low ceiling was crying out for a makeover. And so, the renovation journey began.

🏠 Before the Makeover The home's deep color palette and low ceilings cast a gloomy shadow, making it appear even more congested. One bedroom had even turned into a storage dump! The kitchen was tiny, with no space for appliances – the microwave found its sad home at the entrance. Clearly, a total revamp was needed.

🔍 Finding the Perfect Designer Momo’s search ended with Jijiang Design, whose portfolio perfectly matched her taste. A chance conversation about a select shop revealed a shared aesthetic between Momo and designer Yaya, paving the way for a harmonious collaboration.

📐 The Renovation Wishlist Momo wasn't fussy about styles or colors but had clear demands:

  • Ditch the wooden floors and tiles for seamless cement flooring with hexagonal tile accents.

  • A bright, spacious living area with an open kitchen and central island.

  • Lots of storage for her vast collection of clothes, shoes, and Starbucks mugs.

  • Incorporating her existing walnut furniture and decorative pieces into the new design.

🖋️ The Floor Plan Overhaul Apart from the bathroom, the whole layout was reimagined. The living room expanded, the kitchen opened up with a new island, and two bedrooms merged into a master bedroom with an adjoining dressing room.

📷 After the Transformation: A Photo Tour 👞 Entrance & Office Area: A curved TV wall doubles as a Feng Shui screen to block direct views into the house. A waist-high shoe cabinet not only stores Momo's shoe collection but also extends the visual space.

🛋️ Living Room: Swapping the TV and sofa positions opened up the area. The TV wall's round design adds depth, while the press-to-open cabinet doors maintain a sleek look.

🍴 Kitchen & Dining: Momo's dream of an all-white kitchen came to life, complete with a custom-made, dark green central island. The hexagonal floor tiles add a lively touch to the kitchen.

🛏️ Master Bedroom: Continuing the light theme, the bedroom features wallpapered walls and cabinets. The original window behind the bed was sealed for a cozier vibe.

👗 Dressing Room: Dedicated to Momo's love for fashion, the dressing room features ample hanging space and special storage for suitcases and blankets.

🚿 Bathroom: To combat hard water stains, a shower curtain was chosen over glass doors. The shower area is lined with stone-patterned tiles for an elegant look.

🛒 Furniture Shopping List:

  • Floor lamp: IKEA

  • Desk: Shiken Teak

  • Island chairs: Chair King

  • Decor: Yarnnakarn by Conquer_case, deer sculpture on the dining table

  • Full-length mirror: Kinfalcon Wood Falcon Workshop

  • Bubble potted plant: BoConcept

  • Carpet & dressing room chair: Sunny Day Boutique Furniture

  • Water purifier: VOCA (Aesthetic and functional!)

🏡🎨 Renovation Insights Momo emphasizes the importance of finding a like-minded designer and actively participating in the renovation process. She advises future renovators to communicate their needs clearly and do their homework to avoid post-renovation regrets.

Momo's home transformation story is a testament to the power of good design and the importance of personalizing your space to suit your lifestyle. It’s not just about aesthetics – it's about creating a home that truly reflects who you are. 🌿🏡✨
