Transforming Space with Design and Detail š The original three-room layout, constricted by a mezzanine and a cramped entryway, underwent a radical transformation. The design team, tapping into the homeowner's desire for a luxurious yet functional space, removed the mezzanine to open up the public area. The result? A comfortable and expansive living environment, equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dressing room, and ample storage space.
Before & After: A Spatial Revelation š The old layout's constricted feel gave way to a more fluid and open space. The removal of the mezzanine and the clever reconfiguration of the floor plan allowed for a more comfortable and visually appealing living area.
Entryway Elegance šŖ Stepping into the home, the design team crafted an inviting entryway with imported hexagonal tiles, creating a visually arresting transition to the wooden flooring. The entrance features a stylish coat closet, a display shelf for trinkets, and a floating cabinet for shoes, complete with sensor lights for convenience. The entryway ingeniously integrates a shoe bench with the TV cabinet, offering practicality without sacrificing space.
Living Room & Kitchen: A Blend of Comfort and Style šļø The living room, now airy and high-ceilinged, features a half-height TV wall that serves as a subtle partition. The elegant marble finish, complemented by a grille-style cabinet, infuses the space with a sense of luxury. The kitchen, now open-plan, extends to an island bar, doubling as a dining area and offering extra storage.
Multifunctional Room: Flexibility at Its Best šæ The design team cleverly utilized the raised floor to carve out a multifunctional room. With ample storage under the elevated floor and flexible door options, this space can transform into a guest room as needed.
Master Bedroom: A Cozy Retreat š The master bedroom, a haven of comfort, features a headboard with faux marble and rose gold accents, creating a chic and sophisticated ambiance. An arched surface above the bed softens the room's lines, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility.
Dressing Room & Bathroom: Compact Yet Complete šæĀ Despite its modest size, the dressing room efficiently organizes the homeowner's daily wear. The bathroom, reimagined with a wet-and-dry separation and chic hexagonal tiles, continues the home's elegant aesthetic.
Design Epilogue āØ By opting against a double-layered design and instead leveraging the high ceiling, Yun Ting Design has not only created a more usable space but also enhanced the home's flow and comfort. The strategic use of floating cabinets, open shelves, and waist cabinets enriches the storage options while adding depth to the overall design.
This 16-pyeong home is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can turn a compact space into a luxurious, functional, and bright living area, proving that sometimes, less really is more. š¼š āØ
