Home Sweet Compact Home: This fresh 20-ping pad gets a minimalist Nordic makeover, blending light hues with wood to capture the essence of simplicity and beauty. The design team at Yuan Chu went for a 'light hard decor, heavy soft decor' approach, crafting a cozy Nordic nook perfect for a solo lady homeowner.
Design Focus & Layout Planning
The original layout was a labyrinth of angles and partitions, not exactly the flow you want in a home. So, they rejigged the master bedroom and guest bathroom, and even conjured up a storage room from thin air! To smooth out the edges, they added some curvy touches to cabinets, doors, and ceilings, giving the space that 'je ne sais quoi.'
Entrance Design: Double the Entry, Double the Privacy
The entrance is a two-step affair, offering privacy and a lively tone with vibrant terrazzo floor tiles. The side pegboard wall is super adjustable for hanging needs - talk about flexibility!
ā² A full-length mirror on a structural column? Perfect for those last-minute outfit checks!
ā² The shoe cabinet in woven textures and a floating design visually extends the space.
Dining Room Design: Mealtime Meets Multitask
The dining room isn't just for eating; it's also for light cooking and working. A multipurpose table is flanked by an integrated dining cabinet with shelves, keeping cups and plates within easy reach.
ā² A curvy archway spices up the ordinary hallway, adding fun and ritual to everyday life.
ā² Swapping the kitchen door for glass maintains a connection with guests while cooking.
Living Room Design: Less is More
Ditching the overly ornate for spacious minimalism, the living room in white with wood and latte-colored accents creates a warm and comfy vibe. Bathed in natural light, it feels bright and airy.
ā² Budget-friendly plastic wood-look tiles still bring warmth and harmony.
ā² Soft, round furniture offers a visual and tactile sense of comfort.
ā² An extended windowsill with sockets turns into a perfect spot for audio gear or a phone, making relaxation time even more chill.
Master Bedroom Design: Cozy Haven
The master bedroom extends the white and latte theme, creating a soft, inviting sleep sanctuary. A dressing table by the window takes advantage of the natural light, while storage is maximized with a lift-up bedside cabinet.
ā² A hidden door in the ensuite bathroom makes the space look sleek and uncluttered.
ā² A rounded bedroom door softens the hard lines, easing your walkabouts.
