Design Focus & Layout: In this 38-ping (a ping is about 36 square feet, so do the math...or don't, it's about 1,368 square feet) apartment designed for a solo dweller, the goal was to keep things bright and spacious. Goodbye unnecessary walls, hello open-plan living! Two bedrooms were merged to create a master bedroom and a walk-in closet, maximizing storage space. And to spice up the dining area, they crafted an irregular-shaped table that turned out to be both a focal point and a smooth traffic-flow enhancer. The overall palette? White, with a capital W, paired with easy-to-clean Benjamin Moore latex paint. To avoid blandness, they played with different textures like light wood flooring, a fabric-woven white sofa, and woolly dining chairs. Oh, and curves, lots of lovely curves to soften those pesky beams and blur spatial boundaries.
The Entrance Hall: To tackle the 'kitchen-in-your-face' Feng Shui conundrum, a curved screen was installed. Not only does it amp up the privacy, but it also keeps the space visually open, perfect for keeping an eye on who's coming and going. And yes, there's a nifty iron shelf for keys and fragrances because details matter.
Dining Room: Instead of a standard dining table, they went bespoke with a curvy number that can seat four to five people without hogging the hallway. Sneaky storage is hidden inside the table's columnar leg.
Living Room: Who needs a TV when you've got a projector? Cabinets stretch all the way to the entrance hall, making a perfect projector screen and maximizing storage. The curved partition near the window also tackles the taboo of a door facing the balcony. A secret door behind the sofa leads to the master bedroom, discreetly concealed by playful lines.
Master Bedroom & Dressing Room: In the master bedroom, it's all about chill vibes with warm lighting and a bed so cozy, it's like sleeping on a cloud. The dressing room's open design with hanging rods makes everything easy to find and grab. The makeup area is thoughtfully designed with a full-length mirror for those who prefer standing while getting dolled up.
Bathroom: They revamped the layout to include a steam room and a more spacious sink area. Large tiles with stone patterns give the bathroom a sleek and sophisticated look.
AFTER: In the words of the design team at Nan Yi Interior Design, "It's not just about style; it's about shaping life to fit your favorite form. The pure white hues, bathed in sunlight, hold all the warmth and happiness in just the right measure." 🌞🤍
So there you have it - a home that's not just a place to live, but a work of art where every detail is a nod to comfort, style, and smart living.
