Design Highlights & Layout: The master bedroom, guest room, and dressing room are the main focus, with a nod to the couple's love for hosting. The idea was to create a relaxed dining space within the existing kitchen layout by adding a central island dining area.
The interior is a symphony of minimalism and nature, featuring wood, stone, and paint as the key elements. The low chromaticity and sleek lines paint a picture of tranquil leisure.
Entryway Design: From the get-go, the entryway sets the tone with wood, stone, and paint featured on the walls, cabinets, and shoe bench. The suspended design of the shoe and storage cabinets, coupled with the stone and iron display area, creates a lightweight yet functional space. The combination of materials and the hollow design, complemented by books displayed there, allow light and shadow to dance through, creating a unique and personalized scene.
Living Room Design: The entryway extends to the TV wall, with a common color palette of beige-grey paint on beams and walls. A low platform connects the living room and entryway visually, without creating separation. To soften the harsh corridor, an arc-shaped edge was designed behind the sofa, cleverly integrating storage space, practicality, and aesthetics.
The design team notes that the elongated public area is lit with linear lights, creating a guiding path of illumination that extends the sense of space.
Dining Room Design: To accommodate frequent gatherings, a central island with an embedded IH stove is connected to a solid wood dining table. This warm, inviting space is perfect for light cooking and chatting with friends, enhancing the warm and cozy atmosphere.
Bedroom Design: While the rest of the home sports neutral colors, the lady of the house desired a more personalized touch in the bedroom. Thus, it features a teal green color paired with golden light fixtures, adding a touch of understated luxury. The wardrobe at the foot of the king-size bed is made with translucent grey glass to alleviate the feeling of confinement and offer a clear view of the contents.
Dressing Room Design: The narrow dressing room is cleverly designed with full-length mirrors to double the perception of space. The pegboard is a masterstroke, allowing flexible use of hooks and shelves for outfit planning and accessorizing.
Hidden Gems: "We chose not to demolish the original flooring but to work with it. This approach not only helped control the budget but also maximized efficiency," says Cheng-Zuo Design.
And there you have it! A home where every detail is thoughtfully crafted, blending simplicity, nature, and modern comforts seamlessly. 🏡✨
