🏠 Introduction to Our Riverside Retreat: In this 19-ping little riverside sanctuary, I share a cozy haven with my grandma. Thanks to Fu Yan Design's magic touch with creamy latte hues and smooth curves, our space is not just comfortable, it's utterly delightful!
Beginning of Our Home Journey: Living crammed with my parents and grandma sparked our quest for a serene space for granny and me. My mom, seeking a peaceful abode for her mom and a fresh start for me, bought this pre-sale home. We were drawn to its lighting, location, and, notably, the lovely wooden floors (major budget saver)!
Finding the Right Designers: While waiting for our home, I stumbled upon Fu Yan Design's Climb and Hide project – a climbing wall at home? How cool! Mom and I were sold. Meeting Director Jimmy, we felt instantly at ease. His client-centric approach convinced us that they were the right choice for our custom changes and decor plans.
Our Home Makeover Wishlist:
Style: A blend of cream, pink, and soft curves for a gentle, welcoming ambiance.
Layout: A private room for each of us, plus a flexible +1 room for future needs.
Door Panels: The original dark coffee doors were a no-go. We wanted something that blended better with our vision.
Materials: Non-toxic, eco-friendly materials were a must for a healthy living environment.
Safety: Avoiding sharp edges was crucial for grandma's safety.
Pre and Post-Renovation Plans: The original 3-bedroom layout felt too cramped. Director Jimmy's magic turned the room behind the living room into a glass study, enhancing the open feel while saving on future demolition costs.
The Renovation Journey: Most of the layout and plumbing were sorted during the custom changes, so we swiftly moved to carpentry. Jimmy's regular photo updates kept us in the loop without constant site visits.
A Sneak Peek into Our Finished Home:
Entrance: A simple shelf and hooks welcome us home, while hidden shoe and storage cabinets by the door and corner keep everything tidy.
Living Room & Study: Jimmy's 'round' concept, merging my love for pastels and curves, adds a sense of togetherness to our home. The hidden storage around the corner is a treasure trove of functionality.
Dining Room: The dining ceiling's arc and mirror design alleviate the heaviness of the beam, making the room more spacious. The custom-designed table, with its 'stacked cookies' base, is just adorable.
Main Bedroom: Grandma's room, with its simple white decor, wooden blinds, and comfy feel, is a serene escape.
Secondary Bedroom: My room features a storage bed for flexibility, with my favorite latte walls and simple shelves for a personal touch.
Lessons from Our Renovation Experience: We lucked out with a smooth renovation, thanks to Director Jimmy's detailed planning. Named 'Round Edge' by Jimmy, our home symbolizes unity and destiny, a fitting tribute to our three generations.
Living in Our Dream Home: It's been almost half a year, and the soft colors and comfortable setup make living here a dream come true. Working in my study while grandma watches TV, we're busy yet together – it's perfect. A huge thank you to Jimmy for creating such a beautiful home for us! 🏡💕
