Tripling Functionality and Space Without Cabinets Against the Wall!

Entrance Hall Double-sided Cabinets: Privacy and Storage Galore! šŸšŖ To create a complete entrance hall and a private buffer zone, ęšę„ŠčØč؈ crafted two double-sided cabinets that define the area, doubling as storage for shoes, laundry, and clutter. Director Yang Zhenghan explains that since the living room is the main light-receiving area, an appropriate opening between the two cabinets helps draw light into the entrance hall, maintaining a sense of transparency without feeling oppressive, while also boosting safety by allowing residents to keep an eye on the entrance.

Connecting Spaces with Cabinets: Rest and Storage Aplenty! šŸ›‹ļø Drawing inspiration from the ā€˜engawaā€™ in traditional Japanese architecture, 作室čØč؈ planned a ceiling-high double-sided cabinet in the entrance hall. This not only acts as a screen to dissipate negative energy but also offers extensive storage. Director Tsai Dong-Lin notes that this design creates an intermediary space between the living room, dining room, and study ā€“ fostering more exciting ways for the family to interact.

Suspended Cabinets Over TV Walls: Multi-functional and Non-oppressive šŸ“ŗ In smaller spaces, too many partitions can feel suffocating. ęšę„ŠčØč؈ opted for an open design in the living and dining area, using a multifunctional suspended cabinet to divide the space. The front is perfect for wall-mounted TVs, while the back is a showcase for the cooking-enthusiast homeownerā€™s recipes and collectibles. The off-floor design of the cabinet not only extends and connects the floor space in the public area but also creates a unique visual focal point.

Wardrobe Encircles Dressing Room: Smooth Flow and Neat Storage šŸ‘— During the challenging times of the pandemic, when people stayed indoors more, 作室čØč؈ aimed to bring nature inside the home by incorporating terrazzo flooring and wooden elements to create a semi-outdoor space of relaxation. In the master bedroom, they constructed a cozy, cabin-like sloped roof integrating low beams and preserving ceiling height. An L-shaped wardrobe wraps around to form a dressing room, offering a seamless flow between relaxation and dressing. The clever use of space allows light and sightlines to extend through the open top.

So, there you have it, folks ā€“ a masterclass in making your cabinets do more than just sit against a wall. Ready to give your space a smart, stylish, and space-efficient makeover? šŸŒŸšŸ”Ø
