Why I Regret Filling Every Inch with Storage!

Marten, like many new homeowners, was thrilled at the prospect of customizing his 23-ping pre-sale home. He had visions of a sleek, comfy space with loads of storage - the ultimate dream for anyone living in a bustling city like New Taipei. The plan? A 3-bedroom, 2-living room, 2-bathroom setup with an emphasis on simplicity and, of course, storage galore!

Layout Changes for Spacious Vibes The original layout had a tiny entrance, so they expanded it to accommodate Marten's impressive shoe collection. They also centralized the bedrooms to one side to give the public areas - an open kitchen and living room - more breathing room. The color palette and materials were chosen for their minimalist appeal.

Storage Overload: A Regretful Tale Marten and his family, being fashion enthusiasts, bet all their storage chips on the bedrooms. They thought cramming every possible inch with closets was the way to go. However, post-move-in, they realized that too much of a good thing can be, well, suffocating. Especially since some windows were oddly positioned, making the rooms feel even more cramped. The key takeaway? Sometimes, less is indeed more.

Rethinking the Wardrobe Setup Originally opting for hanging spaces and shelf cabinets, Marten soon realized that flexibility in design doesn't always translate to practicality. Accessing clothes became a game of textile Tetris, with layers of clothing to navigate just to reach that one shirt hiding in the back.

Hindsight Wisdom: Balance is Key If Marten could do it all over again, he'd strike a balance between ample storage and open space. He now believes that a well-organized, decluttered life is better than trying to fit a department store into a 23-ping apartment. And maybe he'd give a little more thought to those pull-out baskets his family suggested. After all, who wants to start each day with a round of clothing Jenga?

There you have it, folks! Marten's tale is a reminder that in the world of home decor, sometimes "enough" is better than "more," and the best-laid plans might need a tweak or two post-move-in. Happy decorating! 📐🛋️💡
